Terms of service

Last updated: November 4, 2026

These terms apply when you install and use StopShip: State & ZIP Rules, a Shopify app by MS Labs.

The service

The app lets you set rules that block checkout when a product can't be shipped to a US state, territory, military address or ZIP code, shows a notice on the product page, and tags orders that break a rule so you can review them.

Not legal advice

The app enforces the rules you set. It doesn't tell you what's legal, and it doesn't verify a buyer's age. Category templates are a starting point with public sources and a date, and laws change: you are responsible for reviewing them and for deciding what you can sell and where.

What blocking can and can't do

Checkout rules run inside Shopify. Orders can still be created outside the online checkout, for example from a draft order where staff choose “Ignore and create order”, or through other channels. That's why the app tags those orders on the Growth and Pro plans: check the tag before you ship.

By default, if Shopify can't run the check, buyers can continue to payment. You can change this in Settings; the cost is that an outage would stop sales.

Plans and billing

There's a free plan and paid plans, described in the app and on the Shopify App Store. Paid plans are billed by Shopify on your Shopify invoice, monthly or yearly.

You can change or cancel your plan at any time. Protection never turns off for billing reasons: if you move to a smaller plan, the rules that fit keep blocking, and the rest stay paused and visible until you upgrade.

Your content

Your products, rules and messages remain yours. The app stores only what it needs to work, as described in our privacy policy.

Acceptable use

Don't use the app in a way that breaks Shopify's terms or the law, or that tries to interfere with the service.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the app running, but it's provided “as is”, without guarantees of uninterrupted operation or that every restricted order will be stopped.

To the extent allowed by law, MS Labs isn't liable for indirect losses, or for fines or penalties related to what you sell, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for the app in the last 12 months.

Ending

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend access if these terms are broken. Your data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.

Changes

If these terms change, we'll update the date at the top of this page; important changes will be announced inside the app.
